Valentine’s Day with Swizzels Love Hearts

It is the time of year for lurve! Romance is in the air and we are all quietly panicking inside as to what to buy for our “better” half (I am totally the better half in my marriage. But I’ll pretend it is him for the purpose of keeping the peace). Do you go all out and make a big lavish gesture? Or do you get a small, very thoughtful gift that shows how much you really care? I tend to go for the latter and, as you know, I am a bit crafty so when Swizzels asked if I’d like a Love Hearts craft hamper, I didn’t have to think too long!

The hamper that arrived was pretty extra (can you see my trying to be trendy? I don’t know if I’m pulling it off, am I pulling it off?!). I did a little Instagram story opening which is in my highlights if you fancy a look. I must say I have NEVER seen so many Love Hearts in my life. I do like the mini sweeties which give you a psychological fist-pump when you eat them. After all, who doesn’t like a little morale boost alongside their elevensies snack? They came with three little tins which you can personalise and give to a loved one this Valentine’s Day.

I decided to be sentimental with this and designed a tin with our wedding anniversary date on first of all. I have romantic visions of Mr Mumsy keeping little keepsakes in this once the sweets are long gone.

For the other tins I decided to let Isabelle design one and to keep the final one for me. I’m going to keep my sewing bits in it, or crafty things like buttons etc. The set is currently around £2.99 and you can find one online at many retailers. So it’s affordable but also a sentimental gift for those on a budget. Who doesn’t like sweets and heartfelt DIY gifts for Valentine’s Day?
