Valentine’s Day gift guide

Valentine’s Day is upon us, it’s the time of year when we buy our loved one(s) a soppy gift and profess our love to each other. Well, that’s the Hallmark idea anyway. I always find it hard to find a suitable gift for Mr Mumsy, and when I was thinking about what I would buy, I thought I would bring together a guide to give all of you a bit of inspo, in case you were struggling like I am.

Fudge Kitchen handmade fudge and caramels

These are divine! Fudge Kitchen make all their products by hand and use fresh ingredients to make their sweet treats special. They sent me some of their seasonal flavours to try, including Belgian Chocolate Swirl and Salted Caramel. However, they currently have a special Valentine’s Box (pictured above) to buy for that loved one with a sweet tooth.

SEAMS hand cream

This is the hand cream of dreams. It is specially formulated for hard done by hands and contains macadamia oil, fragonia oil and shea butter. The original purpose of the cream was to sooth seamstresses hands, but it is fantastic for anyone who has dry, cracked hands. I’ve been using it for a week and love how it soaks in and is a non-greasy formula meaning you can reapply it during the day without having that horrible residue which is so common with lotion. Personalised candle holder

Personalised Gifts Shop got in touch when they found out I was doing a Valentine’s gift guide and asked if I would like to try one of their products. I chose a candle holder which is absolutely gorgeous. I had it personalised with me and my husband’s name and our wedding anniversary date. It was a real struggle to decide what to pick, but I am big on sentimentality – so having a candle holder that will always make me think of our wedding day is a winner for me. They have something for everyone on their website, so definitely take a look if you’re looking for ideas.

A bit of pink – The Ned Pinot Rosé wine

Now for those that love a bit of the vino of an evening, then this is definitely worth a try. It is a fresh, crisp spring wine blending the flavours of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris (I’m not a sommelier, so I admit I copied this from their press release – all I know is that it tastes blooming lovely). It is available in Waitrose and Ocado and would be a great accompaniment to a special “Valentine’s Night In” for those parents out there that don’t get the chance to go out.

Good Night Anti-Snoring ring

What is better than the gift of sleep? Probably the gift of undisturbed sleep. I admit, both Mr Mumsy and I snore and it has been known that Mr Mumsy has been heard by the whole street. We were sent these Good Night Anti-Snoring rings to try. They work with acupressure on the little finger. We haven’t actually found out if they work yet, as both of us have worn them but slept through so we couldn’t tell if they stopped us snoring or not. I will keep you posted as we carry on giving them a go.

ProCook Gourmet X30 Steak Knife set

This is very off piste but still a good present. This set includes 6 steak knives which are presented in a gift box. They are fantastic quality with a contoured handle and heavy feel in the hand. If you are having a night in for Valentine’s, these would be perfect to complement your steak dinner and The Ned Pinot Rosé. These will last for years and will come in much handier than you think. The card

Along with the gift ideas above, I always think that a good card is so important. I love to have a witty/meaningful card and recently I stumbled upon Sugar and Sloth. I love Anita’ products and, although I haven’t had a product to try for the gift guide, I’ll be buying one of her cards to five to Mr Mumsy on Valentine’s Day. I adore her website and will be featuring her in my Small Business Shout Out soon, so keep your eyes peeled.
