Wish upon a star… Star Name Registry review.

Wish upon a star… Star Name Registry review.

Have you seen the websites where you can buy a star and name it? I’ve noticed them over the years and always thought about what a nice sentiment it is. However, when I was younger it was extremely expensive and I had nothing to name it, other than a silly name I’d made up. Well during the last couple of weeks I’ve been talking to the people at Star Name Registry as they offered me my very own star in the sky.

It was actually approaching my husband’s birthday and I thought it would be an amazing idea to name a star for him. So I bit their hand off at reviewing a package. I decided to name the star after our daughter and her birth date and wrap it up for him to open.

When you order a package there are plenty of options to choose from, you can get them presented as a gift or just the basic certificate. You can also add optional extras such as choosing a constellation your star will be in, and one that you can see in the UK at night (The package sent to us). The prices vary from £14.99 to £69.99 depending on your choice and budget.

So how did it go down?

My husband loved it. It was a total surprise as he would never have thought of this for a birthday gift. It means so much more that it’s named after our daughter and something that we can treasure for the rest of our lives. I’ll be honest, I have no idea what star it is, or if I can see it, but knowing it’s there is lovely.  You can see the surprise on his face from the photos below. It went down very well!

Luckily, you can win a star thanks to Star Name Registry. It is the “Extra Bright Star” package (click on the link to see what it includes) and you will also have a constellation map, which is normally £10 extra.
