Your family spring bucket list – 5 things to do with your kids this spring

*This is a sponsored post.*

Spring has to be my favourite season. Sure, summer is great with the lovely day weather, autumn is beautiful and full of activity and winter is simply reserved for the festive season…but spring is something really special.

From great TV to awards season and following our favourite celebs on the red carpet – can’t wait for Met Gala 2019! Spring gives us plenty to look forward to.

Spring makes those early mornings with the kids (at 5.30am!) much more bearable, simply because its not so dark and miserable outside. There are less coughs and colds to catch, we can even go outside and play! Spring does make parenting a little easier, so with that in mind I’ve come up with 5 things to do with your kids this Spring, so you can all make the most of this beautiful season.

Host a garden tea party

Isn’t it great when you can finally let the kids out into the garden? Once you’ve all worked together to clear that garden debris, why not make plans to host a gorgeous garden tea party? Dig out that old garden furniture – give it a quick makeover if its seen better days – and set it out. Invest in some gorgeous fairy lights and tealight holders to scatter around your garden, provide plenty of blankets, cushions and places to sit and stock up on lots of delicious treats and Spring drinks. Invite your friends and family and voila!

Go to an animal sanctuary

Spring is a time for babies! So, instead of heading to a local farm to meet them, why not head to an animal sanctuary instead? Animal sanctuaries will appreciate a donation rather than a fixed fee and you could even get the chance to get up close and personal with feeding, mucking out and volunteering for the day. It’s a great experience for the kids

Go fly a kite

There’s something so wonderfully nostalgic about flying a kite. It takes us back to our own childhoods. So, why not introduce it to your little ones. Now that Spring is here you can turn off the TV and get some much needed fresh air. You could make it a Spring time tradition.

Go on a bike ride

If the kids got bikes for Christmas, then now is the time to make the most of it! Head to a place that is bike friendly and prohibited for cars so you’re not on edge the whole time. You could start from one place and head to a specific destination and have a picnic half way along the route. Just remember the little ones will need to cycle back to the car as well so make sure it’s not too hard on their little legs!

Plant something

All those old planters and grubby garden tubs just gathering spiders and dust? Get the kids involved and plant some spring flowers or some veggies! The kids will love watching something grow – especially if they can eat it afterwards

So what are your favourite things to do in spring?
