Random acts of kindness

Random acts of kindness

I am a bit of a softie at heart, I love to make other people happy and brighten their day, so recently I had an idea to do some random acts of kindness. Now, I won’t fool you into thinking I did anything major, but I wanted to pass on some love to other parents so I placed some little cards in unsuspecting places, hoping that a mum or dad may find it.

So what did I do?

I wrote a little card with a motivating message and inside it, I put a small chocolate bar in. I then left the cards in a place I knew only a parent would find… a baby change. I then scarpered as quick as I could, so that I wouldn’t get caught out.

Now I have no idea if a mum or dad DID find it, and if they did, what happened next; as the point of random acts of kindness is to have no gratification for doing so. In the end, I planted 5 envelopes with either “from one mother to another” or “to a tired parent”, as I didn’t want to leave the dads out.

So have you ever given a random act of kindness?

I once got an unexpected bottle of prosecco and flowers from Jenny (Midwife and Life), just because, and it made my week. I honestly believe that being kind to each other makes the world a better place, in a time that is so fraught with hate.

So I challenge you to do something! It doesn’t have to cost money, it can just be sending a text to a mate to say you’re thinking of them, or another way is to perhaps donate to a charity such as Oxfam online donation or one close to your heart. For me, that’s Mind. That way you are sharing kindness with people that really need it.

Tell me in the comments below if you have ever received one or given one out.
