I don’t have much time to take care of me, I barely even wear makeup anymore. However, my skin is something I always find time for. I only recently started a proper skin-care routine, but a wise friend told me that looking after your skin is the best way to fight off the signs of ageing.
Not only do I look after my face, I look after my hands as well. Being a midwife means I wash my hands sometimes 20+ times a day, so they get very sore.
My facial skin-care routine begins first thing in the morning, I make use of baby wipes for another purpose than wiping a baby bum, and cleanse my face before applying Simple Spotless Skin Anti-Blemish Moisturiser. I also use Which Blemish Gel when I have blemishes, which is regularly. You wouldn’t think I would get so many zits at the ripe old age of 27. I then apply makeup if I’m off to work.
When it comes to bedtime I use a few different products on my face and love Good Things Overnight Clearing Serum. I use Witch Cleansing Lotion before applying Witch Blemish Gel to my t-zone and Good Things to my cheeks and chin, I then use Simple Kind to Eyes Soothing Eye Balm for my eyes, to try and prevent eye wrinkles! I find the combo works really well for combination skin.
Recently I was sent some skin-care products from Chambers & Co to try. Although these products aren’t for your face, they are aimed at your hands and feet, I’m always searching for a good hand cream so was really looking forward to giving them a go. There is a hand balm, foot balm and arnica treatment. They all smell amazing and are made with natural products. I used them for a little while and they work quite well, however they are quite greasy, so I tended to use them as I got into bed. They are meant to be excellent for people with allergies and cost around £8. The brand ethics reminds me of Burt’s Bees and I love their products.
What is your skin-care routine? What products do you use?
