I’ve been a bit quiet lately and the blog has been weighing heavily on my mind. I’ve been wanting to write but have been struggling to find the time to do so. I went back to work in August, and I have found it difficult to readjust to with the new routine, but I’ve also been quite seriously poorly. I ended up in hospital with pneumonia which just wouldn’t leave me alone. So I would say I’ve had my finger in a lot of pies recently.
On a more positive note, I have been quite busy with things behind the scenes. As you may have seen from Instagram, I won a ticket to the MAD Blog Awards, which was a fantastic night out. I have also just spent the weekend with my mum in London, having some quality mother/daughter time. My husband nobly looked after Isabelle for the weekend, which was a lovely break. We stayed near the Tower of London and got some amazing views of the local sights at night.
During our stay we had a few really indulgent meals, we ate lunch at Ca’puccino in Harrods and also drank a (very) expensive cocktail at our hotel’s SkyLounge. Which was a lovely bit of luxury to boost my mood after a difficult month or so. I also bought some stationery – John Lewis on Oxford Street has some amazing stuff. As a stationery addict, this filled my fix for a few weeks. It was great just to have some proper girlie time, and the hotel was divine. I would definitely recommend the DoubleTree by Hilton at the Tower of London if you’re looking for somewhere to stay in the capital.
Thinking back to the MAD blog awards, I finally managed to meet my blogging bestie (and now real life bestie) Jenny from Midwife and Life. It was so amazing to finally get together and it felt like we’d known each other for years. I’m really excited for our next rendezvous in October for the Baby Show. The awards were fantastic, neither Jenny nor I were nominated but just being there was a real treat. Tots100 provided us with hair and makeup in the afternoon so all we had to do was slip into our fancy dresses before going for our night out.
It was a great opportunity just to catch up with our blogging friends and enjoy a swanky meal together. We were sat on a table with Franca (A Moment With Franca); Vicky (Being Tilly’s Mummy) and Niki (Play and Learn Every Day) and they were fantastic company! During the evening we also had the chance to gamble some fake money on Blackjack and we did quite well in the end. The event was hosted at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, which was gorgeous. It was pricey, so Jenny and I stayed at a hotel 10 minutes down the road.
Thank you all for being so patient with me and not disappearing in my slight blogging absence. In the meantime, I’m off to get writing on new posts for the blog and I’m off to a party tonight… on a Thursday, how unconventional!
If you fancy leaving comment, please do, they always make my day!
